[01] ABOUT SOLANA
What is Solana Energy Concepts?
Solana Energy Concepts is an Arizona solar and roofing company that designs, installs, and guarantees premium residential energy systems. We have served Arizona homeowners since 2007.
How long has Solana been in business?
Since 2007 — 18 years designing and installing solar and roofing across Arizona.
Are you licensed, bonded, and insured?
Yes. We are fully licensed in Arizona (ROC #328825 and #346006), bonded, and insured for both solar and roofing work.
What areas of Arizona do you serve?
We serve the Phoenix metro and Valley, plus southern Arizona including Tucson.
Which utilities do you work with?
We design systems specifically for APS, SRP, and TEP rate structures.
[02] SOLAR IN ARIZONA
Does solar really work in Arizona's heat?
Yes. Arizona's 300+ sun-days make it one of the best solar markets in the country. We design for high-temperature performance so output stays strong through summer.
How many solar panels will I need?
It depends on your usage, roof, and goals — typically 15 to 30 panels for a Valley home. Your assessment sizes it precisely from your last bill.
How much roof space does solar require?
Most homes have plenty. A typical residential system needs roughly 300 to 600 square feet of usable, sun-facing roof.
What happens at night or on cloudy days?
At night and on cloudy days you draw from the grid or your battery. With net billing, daytime surplus offsets what you use later.
How long do solar panels last?
Quality panels last 25+ years and carry a 25-year performance warranty. They keep producing well beyond that at a slightly reduced output.
[03] SAVINGS & BILLS
How much can I save with solar?
A typical Arizona home offsets 100% or more of its electric bill. Your exact savings depend on usage and utility — the assessment builds a real number in about two minutes.
Will my electric bill go to zero?
Many customers get close. You will usually still have a small utility connection fee, but the energy portion can drop dramatically.
How does net billing work in Arizona?
When your panels produce more than you use, the surplus is credited by your utility (APS, SRP, or TEP) and applied to later usage, lowering your bill.
What is the typical payback period?
Most Arizona systems pay for themselves in roughly 6 to 10 years, then deliver free energy for the remaining 15+ years of the warranty.
Does solar increase my home value?
Owned solar typically increases home value and appeal, and homes with low energy costs tend to sell faster in Arizona's climate.
[04] FINANCING & INCENTIVES
What financing options do you offer?
We offer ownership (cash or loan) and $0-down service-agreement options. The assessment shows your monthly cost side by side so you can compare.
Is there a $0-down option?
Yes. Several plans require no money down, so you can start saving without a large upfront cost.
What about the federal solar tax credit?
Incentives change over time. We show your current eligibility during the assessment and never overpromise on credits you may not qualify for.
Are there Arizona state solar incentives?
Arizona offers a state solar tax credit and a sales/property tax exemption on solar equipment. We review what currently applies to you.
Do I own the system or lease it?
Your choice. We offer full ownership for maximum long-term savings, or a managed service agreement if you prefer no upfront cost and no maintenance.
[05] EQUIPMENT & TECHNOLOGY
What equipment do you install?
Premium, proven components: Canadian Solar panels, Tesla Powerwall storage, Tesla inverters, and IronRidge racking.
What solar panels do you use?
We install high-efficiency, FEOC-compliant Canadian Solar panels engineered for Arizona's high-heat conditions.
Do you install the Tesla Powerwall?
Yes. We install Tesla Powerwall 3 for backup power and to beat peak time-of-use rates.
What inverters do you offer?
We offer Tesla and other premium inverter options, matched to your system design and battery choice.
Can I monitor my system from my phone?
Yes. You get a mobile app to track production, consumption, and battery status in real time.
[06] INSTALLATION & PROCESS
How long does installation take?
Most residential systems are designed, permitted, and installed within a few weeks. The on-roof install itself is usually one to three days.
What does the process look like start to finish?
Assessment, custom design, permits and HOA, installation, utility interconnection, and activation — with one project manager guiding you throughout.
Do you handle permits and HOA approval?
Yes. We manage city permits, utility interconnection, and HOA paperwork for you.
Will the installation damage my roof?
No. Our certified crews use proper flashing and mounting, and we warranty the roof penetrations against leaks.
Do I need to be home during installation?
Usually only briefly, for the kickoff and final walkthrough. Our team handles the rest.
[07] ROOFING, STORAGE & WARRANTY
Can you replace my roof and install solar together?
Yes. Solar and a new roof in one project, one timeline, and one warranty, so the array outlasts the roof beneath it.
Should I replace my roof before going solar?
If your roof is near the end of its life, yes — it is far cheaper to do both at once than to remove and reinstall panels later.
Why should I add a battery?
A battery stores your daytime surplus so you can power through expensive peak rates and stay on during outages.
Will solar keep my power on during an outage?
Only with a battery. Solar alone shuts off during an outage for safety; a Powerwall keeps your essentials running.
What warranties do you provide?
25-year performance coverage on solar, manufacturer equipment warranties, plus our workmanship and roof-penetration warranties — backed by one local team.
